Ukraine
A diverse country with the Carpathian Mountains in the south and the Black Sea coast in the east. As one of the poorest countries in Europe, Ukraine has repeatedly faced difficult situations in recent decades, from the Chernobyl reactor disaster to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The population suffers both materially and spiritually. Many search for stability in life but often find solace only in alcohol or other drugs. Outside the major cities, life is challenging, and the elderly and children are particularly dependent on assistance.
